Simple Oat Flour

Oats are great for you. They are gluten free, high in soluble fiber and protein, and also help reduce cholesterol. It is so easy to incorporate oats into your baking by using them as a substitute for white flour and thereby giving your creations a more healthful edge. It doesn't turn out quite the same as white flour, so it is good to experiment with it a little and mix it with whole wheat flour.

Ingredients:
  • Quick or Rolled Oats
Equipment:
  • Blender
Step 1
  •  Add the desired amount of oats to the blender.
    • Remember, the flour will be more dense than the oats, so measure out a little extra oats to be sure you will have enough flour when measuring it for your recipe.

Step 2
  • Blend the oats on a low setting, until you have a nice textured flour. You will need to shake the mixture down back towards the blades every few seconds. Be careful!
Step 3
  • Use in your recipe and enjoy!
